The car parking spaces at the Hicking Building are allocated. You will only be able to park a vehicle in one of the spaces if you are allocated a space. Your lease or tenancy agreement will specify if you have a space allocated with your flat. In some cases you may have rented the space directly from the owner or tenant of a flat.
There is no visitors or temporary parking at the Hicking Building and car parking enforcement is in place. Please notify the Management Team if a visitor is parking in your space temporarily. Parking Charge Notices will be issued where cars are parked contrary to this policy.
Both upper and lower car parks are accessed through a GSM (mobile phone) interface. Users who are registered within the interface can call the number associated with the gate and it will open. The old 'clicker fobs' to the lower car park will no longer work. Some users of the upper level car park may still have access fobs or codes which will still work although will be phased out in the future.
Registration to for the GSM (mobile phone) interface can be done by clicking here. Each space can have one car registered at anyone time with a maximum of two telephone numbers registered.
Access requests must be submitted by either the owner or letting agent of the car parking space. The owner or letting agent must provide the telephone number of the user that will require access to the car park.
Only the publicised landline telephone number of a letting or estate agent will be registered. No mobile numbers of employees will be registered.
Pedestrians can exit the lower ground car park by using the newly installed exit button installed to the side of the roller shutter, see below. Cyclists will be provided with access to the lower car park to allow access to the cycle store. Pedestrian access to the lower car park should be avoided.
We are looking at the feasibility of upgrading the current emergency exit from the car park to allow cycle and pedestrian access.
A fixed penalty fine is likely to be issued if a car is parked in an allocated space with a different registration than that registered with us. The vehicle that is registered to a space can be altered, either permanently or temporarily by notififying the management team.
If you are allowing a friend or relative to park in your space please infom the management team so that incorrect penatly notices can be avoided.
Access to, and usage of, the upper and lower car parks will be monitred. Both are monitored by CCTV and usage of the GSM interfaces is logged.
Examples of misuse include, access the gates for unauthorised vehicles to park, excessive use of the roller shutter for pedestrian access or parking in unallocated spaces.
